tracy jones elected as chs director

ST. PAUL, MINN. (Dec. 12, 2017) – Illinois farmer Tracy Jones has been elected to the board of CHS Inc., the nation’s leading farmer-owned cooperative and a global energy, grains and foods company.

Jones was elected to a three-year term on the 17-member board at the recent CHS Annual Meeting on Dec. 8 in Minneapolis. He succeeds Greg Kruger of Eleva, Wis., who had served on the CHS Board of Directors since 2008.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be elected to this position,” said Jones, who lives in Kirkland, Ill.

Jones operates a fourth-generation family farm that raises 2,600 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat along with feeding 1,400 head of cattle annually. He has been a board member of CHS Elburn since 1996 and board chairman since 2011. He previously served on the boards of DeKalb County Farm Bureau, DeKalb Kane Cattlemen’s Association and DeKalb County Corn Growers.

“I look forward to the serving the cooperative system in this role and to helping to strengthen and grow CHS and the cooperative system,” said Jones.

Jones currently is an elected representative and vice chairman on the DeKalb County Board and previously served as a board member on the DeKalb County Long Term Recovery Corporation. He previously was Mayfield Township Trustee, Mayfield Township Clerk, and Sycamore Fire Protection District board treasurer.

He is a graduate of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation program and earned an associate’s degree in farm management from Kishwaukee College.
